Sandwich bread

Ingredients

  • 30 g butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 240 g water
  • 1 tsp dried instant yeast (4 g)
    or 10 g fresh yeast
  • 30 g brown sugar
  • 500 g bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Grease a loaf tin (approx. 30 cm x 12 cm x 10 cm) and set aside.
  2. Place water, dried yeast, brown sugar and butter in mixing bowl and mix 1 min/37°C/speed 2.
  3. Add flour and salt and knead 3 min/Dough Mode. Transfer dough to a large bowl, cover with a damp tea towel and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (approx. 1 hour). Divide dough into 3 parts, form each into a ball and place them in prepared loaf tin. Cover with damp tea towel and allow to rise again in a warm place until doubled in size (approx. 1 hour). Meanwhile, preheat oven to 180°C.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes (180°C). Remove loaf from tin and allow to cool on a cooling rack before slicing.
